GQA Qualifications, the fenestration industry’s leading awarding organisation, has joined the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF).
Commenting on the decision to join, Mick Clayton, GQA’s Chief Executive Officer said:
“Our membership of the GGF formalises the relationship between us at a time when both organisations are working hard to address the skills gap in our sector. Collaboration between the GGF and GQA Qualifications is a really sensible way to pool our energies and resources to face the challenges ahead rather than operating independently.”
James Lee, GGF Director of External Affairs added: “We are pleased that GQA has joined the Federation, and we very much look forward to working with GQA on future projects, starting with Fensterbau Frontale and the UK Pavilion where with GQA we will be highlighting the importance of training, skills and qualifications for the glass and fenestration industries.”
With a heritage that includes over thirty years of writing industry-relevant vocational qualifications, GQA is recognised for its commitment to raising standards. GQA’s ethos is that all qualifications should be wholly industry-relevant and should be delivered only by suitably structured and knowledgeable organisations. That is why it has developed a network of over 100 approved centres.
The organisation is also a major advocate of practical training for the industry to underpin the many hands-on roles that employees undertake and is actively involved in the Building Our Skills – Making Fenestration a Career of Choice campaigns to attract new entrants to the market.
