Committed to developing our people

Tristan Cooke, Managing Director of Mila Maintenance and Installation tells us how the business is supporting the professional and personal development of some of its newest staff members.

“For those who know our business they will recognise that we have always been committed to training and development when it comes to our staff; they are our most important asset”.

“In the past year we have grown our team to keep up with the demands of the business and I was delighted to have the opportunity to enrol three of our newest recruits onto the Inspiring Talent Academy run by the Building Our Skills – Making Fenestration a Career of Choice team”.

“It is a seven-day programme over 15 months and the feedback from the first day they attended recently has been really positive. The programme is designed to focus on communication, teamwork, leadership and general business knowledge as well as offering each of those attending the opportunity to have a mentor to support their career growth and development”.

“The first day taught them how to recognise their own personally traits and those of others so that they can understand how to communicate better with their colleagues and customers who might approach things differently to themselves. I know they all got something out of the day and are looking forward to the next session”.

“It will be great to see how they benefit from attending the academy programme and how it helps them in their growth as colleagues and as people”.
